Background: The acute Telogen Effluvium (aTE) and the Brittle Nail Syndrome (BNS) are two medical conditions affecting both males and females. A dietary approach based on aminoacids and/or on protein hydrolysate could be a safe and effective approach in reducing hair loss during acute telogen effluvium and in improving brittle nails conditions.
Objective: In this study, we investigated the efficacy of L-cystine (CYS) associated or not to a commercially available hydrolysate (KDC) of natural keratin obtained from a non-human source (feathers) in improving both aTE and BNS symptoms.
Design: A randomised, parallel group study was carried out for 3 months on 60 female subjects with aTE and BNS. Each subject attended clinic visits at the time of randomization (baseline) and after 45 and 90 days of products use. Anagen/Telogen hair, hair density, pull test, global photography, hair and nail brightness, and nail plate growth rate were measured. At the end of the study, a self-assessment test was carried out.
Result: A statistical significant increase of hair density, hair and nails brightness, and nail plate growth rate were observed both in the CYS and KDC treatment group.
Conclusion: This study demonstrates that L-Cystine alone or a mix Kera-Diet®+L-Cystine, associated with traced elements and specific vitamins at the right dosage can enhance hair and nails conditions, even though human nutrition is more and more balanced.

The presence of hair follicles is one of the main characteristics of mammals. In each new follicular cycle, the embryonic developmental steps are repeated to form a new hair. It is a complex structure, its functions ranging from temperature regulation, physical protection, camouflage, and social interactions. In addition, it is also an endocrine organ capable of producing and locally converting many hormones. In this review, we will describe the main anatomical, embryological, and physiological properties of the hair follicle, as well as their clinical importance.

Trichotech™ technology had its mechanism of action published in 2017. Trichosol™ is a vehicle presentation (with Trichotech™ technology) with other hair growth formulations such as Minoxidil, an important drug in the treatment of hair loss. hair and other hair disorders. Through dermoscopy, the percentage of anagen phase was quantified between groups of volunteers who used Minoxidil (3%) associated or not with the Trichosol™ vehicle, which contains Trichotech™ technology. This study aimed to investigate the potential of Trichosol™, associated with Minixodil (3%), in the promotion of hair growth through the analysis of the increase of the capillary anagen phase (about 20%) compared to the telogen phase of the volunteers. The results also indicated that after treatment for 90 days with the combination of Minoxidil (3%) and Trichosol™, both sexes presented increase in the percentage of anagen phase. Further investigation concerning Trichosol™ could be useful in the development of new therapeutic associations for the treatment of hair loss.

The face is the most informative stimulus for humans: It provides information on the person identity, sex, mood, age, race, health conditions. Upper third of the face transmit mental states even when are competing with cues perceived from the lower face. Mostly, the periorbital area is the first region affected by age-related changes. Up mentioned causes are reasons of periorbital region rejuvenation demands. There are nonsurgical and surgical rejuvenation procedures which are treating different subunits of eyes and its surrounding structures. Described miniinvasive thread lifting procedures are aiming to reduce aesthetic problems associated with ageing, trauma or congenital deformity without aggressive interventions. The objective of this study is to analyze the safety and efficacy of mini-invasive, nonsurgical, thread lifting procedure for the upper third of the face, particularly eyebrow elevation. The methods described in an article were used in 180 patients. The effect lasts up to 5 years depending on thread material. The post-procedure distance between lateral cantus and the lateral end of the brow was elongated by 14%. In case of arch apex formation distance between pupil and the highest point of the arch was increased by 16.2% during the first year from the procedure. The result lasted more than two years in 80% of patients. According to patient satisfaction survey analysis, up to 50% of patients were very, up to 45% fully, and up 5% moderately satisfied with results. The 90% of patients evaluated their appearance as a youthful version of per-procedural appearance.

Objective: Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) is one of the three most common forms of noncicatricial alopecia characterized by hair loss in both men and women. It occurs in 50% of men above in their sixth decade. Currently, two effective treatments for AGA are used in men: topical minoxidil and oral finasteride. However, although clinical studies have shown that minoxidil and finasteride have positive therapeutic outcomes, their use can have certain side-effects. In this study, we aimed to compare the safety and effectiveness of an alternative treatment, Redensyl, Capixyl, and Procapil (RCP), and 5% minoxidil solution in adult male patients suffering from AGA.
Methods: This randomized controlled study was conducted on patients who used either RCP or 5% minoxidil for 24 weeks. The patients applied 1 mL of each solution to their head skin twice each day, in the morning and evening.
Results: The comparison between RCP and minoxidil groups revealed that patients treated with RCP had a significantly higher researcher score (minoxidil group 25.5% vs. RCP group 64.7%), higher global photographic evaluation score (minoxidil: 60% vs. RCP: 88.9%), and higher self-evaluation score.
Conclusion: The RCP group showed a significantly better clinical recovery in terms of hair growth.
