Atopic Dermatitis (AD), commonly known as eczema, is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by intense itching, redness and swelling. It affects a significant proportion of the population, with varying prevalence across different age groups and geographic regions. Despite its prevalence, the diagnosis and monitoring of AD remain challenging due to the heterogeneity of the disease and the lack of specific biomarkers. Recent advances in molecular biology and immunology have led to the identification of potential biomarkers that could revolutionize the diagnosis and management of AD.
